Activities
You and your adult guest will each be able to select a total of TWO hosted activities per person - one activity or one spa appointment on December 7th, and one activity on December 9th. All available activities are described below.
Please review all activity options carefully before submitting your selections, as modifications may be difficult to accommodate during the program. The JLR Concierge team is available to answer any questions and assist you with the selection process.
Bratislava Activities • December 7th
Bratislava Castle Tour
As you arrive into Bratislava, you will see the red roof of Bratislava Castle from the distance. During this activity, you will experience the castle firsthand, perched high above the Danube River and taking in fantastic views of the city and surrounding countries. Guests will explore the castle’s courtyards, terraces, and panoramic viewpoints, while learning about the site’s role in the history of the Hungarian Kingdom and its connection to the Habsburg era.
Attire: Warm layers and comfortable walking shoes as the tour will depart by foot directly from the hotel.
Hiking in the Bratislava Hills
Accompanied by a trekking guide, this 2-hour hike transitions from peaceful, streamside valleys into a gentle uphill hike through lush forests. The journey culminates at the top of Kamzík Hill, where guests will take in panoramic forest views and celebrate reaching the summit. No forest trek is complete without a rewarding finish - after stepping off the trail, the guests can unwind and toast to their achievement with a glass of fine local wine or a refreshing drink at a cozy spot right on the hill.
Attire: Warm layers and comfortable hiking boots are recommended.
Spa (50-minute Signature Massage or Facial)
As a JLR guest, you can choose from a Signature Facial or Massage as your hosted activity. Available spa appointment times are based on morning or afternoon appointment times.
Attire: The spa will provide each guest with a robe and slippers.
Wine Tasting at Šimák Zámok Pezinok
JLR Guests will find themselves tasting incredible local wine, while enjoying the historic cellars of a 14th century castle! The sommelier will show you the historic spaces that have taken on a new breath through reconstruction and wines with character that originate from the area.
Attire: Warm layers and the desire to taste amazing local wines!
Vienna Activities • December 9th
Waltz Lessons
Could you imagine a better place to learn how to waltz, than the city where it was invented? Enjoy a one-hour Waltz lesson following the famous waltz melodies of Strauss and Lanner and get to know the traditions of Viennese Balls and etiquette.
Attire: Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for dancing.
Imperial Apartment Tour
Embark on a fascinating tour of the Imperial Chancellery Wing and the Amalia Residence, once home to Franz Joseph and Elisabeth, to gain a glimpse into their lavish lifestyles. Dive deep into the personal effects of Empress Elisabeth, fondly known as Sisi, which includes exquisite pieces of jewelry and original dresses.
Attire: Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking as we will depart directly by foot from the Hotel to the tour.
Christmas Markets of Vienna
Vienna is a city steeped in rich history and adorned with exquisite architecture. Admire the stunning facades that line the streets, a testament to the city's grandeur. Your guide will point out the finest examples of Vienna's architectural heritage and share insights into their significance. The tour will include a Christmas Market.
Try the typical Viennese fast-food: freshly grilled sausages served with Viennese mustard. Get to know the differences between Burenwurst, Debreziner and Kaesekrainer and why there is no Viennese sausage in Vienna but Frankfurter. Confused? Not after the Delicious Vienna tour!
